Today for P.E I played a game called the blind throw. There was a chair turned the other way so you cant see. There are three hola-hoops there is a red, green and yellow you get three bean bags and you have to try and get the bean bags in the hola-hoops if you get a bean bag in the red hola-hoop then you get 6 points, if you get a bean bag in the green hola-hoop you get 9 points and if you get it in the yellow hola-hoop then you get 13 points. Pinenga and I VS Ruby and jaedyon. Ruby and jaedyon won. The score was 9-0. Thats my P.E reflection. The next day I was in a team with Ayden and Me vs Noah and someone else I forgot his name. That is my P.E refletion.

This term we did our calendar art. It was really fun. Here is some information about my koru art.

  • The purple koru on the right is my mum. It is her favourite colour.
  • The green koru is my step dad.
  • The dark blue koru on the left is my dad.
  • The orange koru on the top right corner is my sister Astella.
  • The light pink koru upside down on the green koru is my sister Mishaya.
  • The yellow koru is my sister Elodie.
  • The red koru is my sister Violet.
  • The light blue koru is me(Paige)
  • All the other little koru on the bottom are my cousins Dani, Jamie, Tara, Ella, Sam, Emily and Lucas.
Something that I found challenging was colouring with pastel because it kept smudging.
I am proud of  the designs around the koru because I didn't mess it up.

1. What is the history of Nz olympic uniforms?                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        london, 1908 the new zealanders did not wear the silver fern because it was not just a new zealand team. The team was made up of australians and Nzers. Then was called Australasia. Back then we wore something that represents NZ and australia.

Antwerp 1920, this is the first Nz Olympic team which was chaperoned by Violet Walronds dad, Plus the uniforms were home made.
2. Where do the ideas for a NZ olympic uniforms come from?
Shane Hansen says “Well the initial reaction from the athletes is that they were quite stoked with having something that was a bit more modern than usual.  Something that feels comfortable to wear fit properly and wasn't too shoe w-pony-ish you know they wanted something that was a little bit more subtle.” The ideas also came from Nz olympians events and how comfortable it has to be for each athlete and their event.
3. What is the current nz olympic uniform?
This is the current NZ olympic uniform designed by Shane Hansen.

After researching about the olympic uniforms we started to make the uniform. Here are the Instructions on how to make an olympic uniform.
Instructions of how to make a olympic NZ singlet!
What you need:
Needles, Black and white thread and fabric,a singlet pattern, pins and possibly a  sewing machine
Method:
  1. First you get fabric and trace around a singlet pattern onto the fabric and cut it out.
  2. Next you stitch/sew the sides together and sew up the arms
  3. Then you decorate it with Olympic rings and silver ferns
  4. You can then Try it on
  5. After that just fix anything up that might have broken and make sure that it won't break when you put it on
  6. Finally you're Finished
Who did you design it for?  The NZ Olympians
Why did you design it? We designed it because we wanted to make something for the olympians to wear.
What did you need to think about when making it? We needed to think about the comfort each olympian needed and make sure it was appropriate for their event.

Reflection
Maddy-I enjoyed making the singlet with my buddy I had fun stitching it up the singlet together. the hard thing was trying to find the right fabric to make the singlet  with. The learning muscle that I used was Revising and the learning muscle I think that my buddy used was noticing.
Paige- I enjoyed stitching the singlet together and stitching on the decorations. One thing that was hard was after we had make the singlet we tried it on and it broke. The learning muscle I think me and maddy used perseverance and managing distractions. I really liked doing this project.
